CO2 Calculator for PVC and Alternative Piping Materials

Posted By John Houle on Oct 22, 2026

CO2 Calculator for PVC and Alternative Piping MaterialsThe PVC Pipe Association has developed an online calculator to compare the environmental impacts of PVC pipes versus competitive products. Both pressure and non-pressure results are provided. For each analysis, the calculator requires inputs for a specific pipe product for PVC and an alternative material.

The environmental impacts for alternative pipe materials were calculated using the same functional unit and category rules as used for PVC pipes. The calculator then provides outputs for emissions caused by production, installation, and use phases.
