John Houle holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri and an MBA from the University of Oregon. He has more than 25 years of experience in the plastic pipe industry in applications engineering, market development, forensic analysis, technical writing, and standards development.
The PVC Pipe Association has developed an online, on-demand course to train and certify utility and contractor personnel to install PVC water pipe. The course includes subjects such as handling, storage, joint assembly, pressure testing, and tapping. The training and certification offered through this course is recommended for contractors and inspectors prior to installing a pipeline project. This course and certification provide an extra level of assurance in addition to installation guides, standards, and manuals published by the industry.
