AWWA PIPE STANDARDS & MINIMUM SAFETY FACTOR

Uni-Bell strongly supports thermoplastic pipe standards that are clearly written and formatted to allow for straightforward comparisons. We encourage all members of the pipeline community to stay informed and to express their support for clear, consistent AWWA pipe standards and a minimum safety factor of 2.0 (maximum DF of 0.5).

DUCTILE IRON STANDARD CHANGES

A series of articles from PVC Pipe News, including one on a new standard for ductile iron discussing changes in pipe wall thicknesses as well as thickness class and pressure class designations.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD) 2015

The only ISO-compliant, peer-reviewed, industry-wide EPD for water and sewer pipe in North America. Benchmarks the impacts of PVC pipe products across their life cycles. Fully transparent and certified by NSF International as an industry best practice. Verified LCA Conformity to Product Category Rule and ISO 14025 - May 15, 2015

ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD) 2023

The only ISO-compliant, peer-reviewed, industry-wide EPD for water and sewer pipe in North America. Benchmarks the impacts of PVC pipe products across their life cycles. Fully transparent and certified by NSF International as an industry best practice. Verified LCA Conformity to Product Category Rule (PCR-1002) and ISO 14025 – March 21, 2023.

PVC VS. FIBERGLASS (FRP) GRAVITY SEWER

This comparison of PVC and fiberglass gravity sewer pipes is based on decades of flexible-pipe research and field experience. A review of the properties and capabilities of both materials shows PVC to be the better choice.

UNI-PUB-19: THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE OF PVC PIPE

Health, safety, and the environment: PVC pipe’s performance is outstanding across the board.

UNI-TR-08: HYDRAULIC TESTING OF PVC PIPE: LABORATORY AND FIELD TESTS CONFIRM FLOW COEFFICIENTS

Recent hydraulic research on new and in-service PVC pipe has confirmed that industry-recommended flow coefficients are conservative for design of pressure and non-pressure pipes.
