PVC Pipe Association Webinar Series

Welcome to the PVC Pipe Association's online webinar training series. Our webinars offer educational and informative workshops on an on-going basis to support the use of PVC piping in water and wastewater systems. Webinars include examples of how PVC pipe has benefited utilities across North America.

We also provide customized webinars on the design, specification and installation of PVC pipe for water and sewer projects. Let us know if you would like us to organize a webinar for your organization by emailing info@uni-bell.org.

*Note for PVC Pipe Association webinars offering Professional Development Hours (PDHs): Continuing education requirements for professional engineering licenses may differ from state to state. The final authority to approve PDHs, courses and credits and other ways to earn credits rests with each state licensing board. Individuals are advised to contact their respective state licensing boards regarding their continuing education requirements for professional engineering licensure.

Webinar for Water Utilities Considering PVC Pipe for the First Time

Thursday, March 9: Review of the New AWWA C900-16 Standard and Other PVC Pipe Standards Available

PVC Pipe Association staff will review information on the new AWWA C900-16 standard and other standards available for PVC water and sewer pipe. Many water and wastewater utility professionals may not be aware that PVC pipe is now made in sizes up to 60 inches for both water and sewer applications or the extent of its use in North America. PVC pipe and fittings have been widely used for water transmission and distribution, gravity sewer, forcemain, irrigation, reclaimed water and storm water applications for more than 60 years in both Canada and the U.S. There is more than one million miles of PVC water pipe in service in North America.

This webinar will provide utility officials with an overview of available standards and specifications for PVC water and sewer pipe which can assist in selecting the appropriate PVC piping products for underground infrastructure projects.

This 30-minute webinar will cover:

  • AWWA C900-16 & Other Updated Standards
  • PVC Pipe Milestones
  • Standards Organizations
  • Outside Diameter Regimens
  • Performance Designations
  • Joining Systems
  • Pipe Stiffness/Structural Requirements
  • Pressure Class/Pressure Rating

Thursday, March 30: Water and Sewer Utilities Considering PVC Pipe for the First Time

PVC Pipe Association (PVCPA) staff will address common questions regarding PVC pipe for first time users and for utilities that are considering/reviewing alternative pipe materials. The presentation draws on 60 years of experience from municipalities across North America that have used PVC pipe in their water and sewer systems. Over 40,000 North American water utilities use PVC pipe today.

This 30-minute introductory webinar on PVC water and sewer pipe will cover the following topics:

  • Common questions water and sewer utilities have when evaluating alternative pipe materials like PVC
  • How to seamlessly transition from ductile iron to PVC pipe
  • How fittings, valves and appurtenances are used in PVC piping systems
  • Installing, locating and tapping PVC pipe
  • Criteria and considerations for comparing PVC and DI pressure pipe
