THE TRUTH ABOUT CORROSION

The following articles, all recently published by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE International), in their publication Materials Performance, shed light on facts about the "plague" responsible for the rapid deterioration of our infrastructure: CORROSION. " PVC is a pipe material that is clean, safe, easier and cheaper to install, and is completely immune to corrosion. Today, PVC pipes account for over 70 percent of the new buried water distribution pipes being installed throughout the U.S. and Canada; for sanitary collection sewers, PVC pipes comprise over 75 percent of all new installations, according to a recent analysis of the buried pipe markets in both Canada and the U.S. Moreover, PVC pipe products satisfy sustainability issues with regard to recycle ability and resource conservation. PVC pipes are completely recyclable and consume less energy to produce than alternative pipes. PVC pipe products have and will continue to change the dynamics of how utilities are able to address pipe infrastructure management and sustainability for the future."
